In 2024, we’ve watched the sprint to the cloud continue. Businesses are migrating for a number of reasons—to consolidate users and data, take advantage of cloud solutions, and navigate stricter and increasingly complex data sovereignty regulations. But 2025 will introduce a new reason to embrace the cloud: The rush to become Copilot ready.
As Microsoft’s GPT-4-powered AI tool gains prominence, more businesses will be working to take full advantage of Copilot and other AI technologies. Here are five predictions about how this embrace of AI and the cloud will play out in 2025.
Prediction 1: Increased M&A Activity
Since the boom years of 2021 and 2022, the M&A market has cooled. This created a pent-up demand for deals, and conditions appear to be perfect to turn that demand into action in 2025. A combination of economic stability, advancements in technology, and a recent cut in interest rates all point to a coming increase in M&As. Couple these factors with the increased certainty the 2024 elections will bring, and you’ve got a deal-friendly environment.

A seamless migration is often a driving factor in the success (or failure) of a merger or acquisition. MSPs bring specialized expertise to complex migrations that in-house IT teams often lack. Their deep experience across industries will be invaluable when the M&A market begins revving up.
Prediction 2: Tenant-to-Tenant Migrations Will Become the Norm

Very soon, completing a tenant-to-tenant migration will involve untangling all the complexities that come with moving a tool like Copilot.
